The Medical Equipment Bank is currently overstocked.
In addition, our facility is undergoing major remodeling, and contractors require sufficient space to safely complete their work in areas that are also used for equipment storage.

WARNING: FALSE, MISLEADING, OUTDATED, OR UNAUTHORIZED INFORMATION MAY APPEAR ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SEARCH ENGINES, ONLINE DIRECTORIES, COMMUNITY POSTINGS, OR THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES.
ONLY information published through the official Medical Equipment Bank Website, authorized Medical Equipment Bank communications, official Facebook page, or Senior News publication shall be considered official, verified, approved, current, and reliable.
The Medical Equipment Bank and the Thurston County Council on Aging are not responsible for inaccurate, outdated, misleading, unauthorized, or false information published by outside websites, individuals, organizations, social media pages, online platforms, or internet sources.
This policy has been formally approved by the Thurston County Council on Aging Board.
CLIENT CONDUCT, SERVICE POLICIES, AND RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
The Medical Equipment Bank and the Thurston County Council on Aging Board reserve the absolute right to refuse, suspend, restrict, or terminate services to any individual whose behavior is disruptive, abusive, hostile, threatening, intimidating, harassing, argumentative, disrespectful, unsafe, or otherwise interferes with the operation of the Medical Equipment Bank.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- abusive or inappropriate language or conduct,
- threats toward staff, volunteers, clients, or visitors
- refusal to follow Medical Equipment Bank policies or instructions,
- aggressive, confrontational, or disorderly behavior,
- harassment or intimidation,
- unsafe or unsanitary conduct,
- repeated policy violations,
- or conduct that disrupts the safe, respectful, orderly, or efficient operation of the facility.
The Medical Equipment Bank further reserves the right to immediately deny services, require individuals to leave the premises, contact law enforcement when necessary, suspend privileges, or permanently prohibit future access to services or property.
Failure to comply with Medical Equipment Bank policies, operational procedures, sanitation requirements, safety rules, volunteer instructions, or facility guidelines may result in immediate enforcement action without further warning.
This policy has been formally reviewed and approved by the Thurston County Council on Aging Board and may be enforced by authorized Medical Equipment Bank management, staff, and volunteers.

The Medical Equipment Bank provides some medical supplies on the store’s countertop section. While a donation is suggested, it is not required to access these items.
We do have medical supplies and equipment available at a discounted rates. The funds raised from these items are used to keep the Medical Equipment Bank open and running.

- Please clean and return the equipment when you no longer need it.
- WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY MEDICATION OF ANY TYPE. Please dispose of unneeded medications at your local police or sheriff’s department.
- We DO NOT accept Broken items (this includes, tears, holes, broken arms, wheels, etc.), items with rust
- We DO NOT accept any Physical Therapy Equipment.
- We DO NOT accept any fabric based braces.
- We DO NOT accept broken equipment.
- A doctor’s prescription is required for electric wheelchairs, scooters, hoyer lifts, beds, lift recliners.
- We DO NOT furnish batteries for electric wheelchairs, scooters, beds, etc.

PLEASE CLEAN ALL EQUIPMENT BEFORE USE
Before using any medical equipment obtained from the Medical Equipment Bank,
please clean and disinfect all items at home.
Recommended cleaning:
Use a bleach-based disinfecting solution, or
Use another EPA-approved disinfectant
Follow all manufacturer instructions on the cleaning product
This additional step helps reduce the spread of germs and protects your health.

Large items, such as hospital beds, lifts, etc. are not stored on site. If you receive a large item and are no longer in need of it, you will need to continue to store it until it is needed by a new person. |

- Make sure that electrically powered items are fully charged
- Only donate working electrically powered equipment (we will test them before they are unloaded at our store)
